1232 Hrs IST : Markets experienced sharp correction which was long awaited. This continued earlier this morning. 4945 which was next best support to 4920, did not hold & gave way to the latter. On the contrary, former level acted as a resistance to a bounce-back rally from the index.
Yesterday, like Nifty took support on gap created on Monday. Thus, we should be in a lookout for gaps to provide support before they fill-in, and exit longs, or initiate some.

Stock specific view : Jayshree Tea looks good since morning. Bank stocks continue to soar.

Market Views

Some points to keep in mind to have a wholesome perspective of how things are rolling.

• Crude is again facing resistance at $68 yet again(3rd time!). Indicators have started to show -ve divergence on daily charts & as well all the popular EMA's have been breached as it is.
• Dollar hit another low against euro, which caused all the global mkts to raise a toast to it. Many scrips zoomed just on account of raw material cost easing out.
• Gold hit $1000 which also aided the aforementioned point. But it has hit the demand in our domestic market just in time when festivities are about to roll-in.

1100 Hrs IST : 4610 is a crucial level for nifty. If it does not hold, yesterday's action cudnt b termed a mere correction. Trend Reversal cant b ruled out.

Further Ideas

Even though a correction was anticipated but fresh buying started towards the Nifty EOD levels which gives some promise that 4670-80 might act as support.

One must be cautious with going long.

There has been Sector specific move oflate with only few raising a toast to the occasion. IT & Realty pack have performed quite well. Thus, are more prone to correction.

1512 Hrs IST : Accumulate GSPL. Some top guns notching up a pie bit larger than the usual way!

1442 Hrs IST : Long Positions initiated.

1440 Hrs IST : Nifty breaks 13EMA for the first time successfully. I have exited all my shorts. Initiate fresh position with a bit more convincing moves. Usually a common feature with some respite towards the close happens in accordance with European Mkts trading strong.

1430 Hrs IST : As told previously Nifty is trading rangebound between 13EMA & lower Bollinger Band(some trading jargons, nvrmind!)

1425 Hrs IST : Nifty is finding resistance from 13EMA since morning & with global cues not so favourable. Weakness would be difficult to prevent.

1420 Hrs IST : 4650 levels broken(yesterday's low) again! Dont know how long nifty may find comfort in that level but if its not sustained another 60-70 point slide mite occur in a whiff!

1125 Hrs IST : Mkt is showing some recovery but i dont think going long is worth it. Instead aplenty of weak scrips can be Short-sell'd on rise.

Thoughts over NIfty -- Week Ahead beginning 31 Aug '09

It aint news anymore that nifty is heavily bought as of now. Negative Divergence with breaking supports have resulted for many indicators !
Hong Kong stock index is heavily poised to collapse in another few days.
Though Nasdaq is all decked up nicely.
Since there are over 15 stocks heavily overbought i expect some correction.

Nifty is forming a triangle....breakout could be on cards. Since i see weakness. Breakout could be -ve. Wutever it is it will be HUGE!

1312 Hrs IST:
Ppl losing may find comfort in following support levels
4660--4650(latter being Yesterday's low)
Still i wud recommend EXIT at every rise.





1350 Hrs IST :
Signs of recovery cud be misleading. A diverging triangle can not be ruled out. Bears are not going to let it easy. Watch out & dont get trapped at higher levels. BREAKOUT in either direction cud result HUGE volatility & momentum.





1411 hrs IST : Speculators do go wrong. Global cues are affecting today's trade. Very few day where lowest & highest point of trades have been broken. Watch out n play safe, If at all :)

Nifty view r very important to get rite for todays' trade
4731 (the max value attained recently) would be a HUGE resistance. Nifty's movement was affected due to FnO expiry today so the global cues thus far might take their toll tomorrow to realign themselves('de-coupling' theory may find a few takes though who may choose to digress, but today's morning cup of tea would had been a bitter brew for them).Anywaz, 4620 sets the weakness in.

I do NOT feel this is a rally but instead a few leveraging positions.
Only if 4725 is seen i think one shud feel safe to go long.

Retrospect 24 Aug 09

Hi !
Another feature herein i wish to incorporate is to find how good(or bad:P) we fared with the calls. Mostly i would refer to those that 'missed' their mark.

BPCL call was a HUGE mistake...please do NOT enter this scrip since it is overbought & has indicators against it.

Besides this Sintex showed weakness but the errata was not mentioning the Stop Loss which happened to be 213.

Surprisingly, Nifty did rise today against indicators suggestions!

Also, look out for coming Thursday when F&O would be expiring for this month.

Took a week off towards my other passion, travelling. This time it was Sikkim. Loved the ppl & the place.

Anywaz, Nifty crossed 4500 mark yet again. Thereafter it zoomed for a while which was an easy go considering the reduced OI(Open Interest) calls in 4500 'calls' by almost 50%

Stocks to watch out for in coming week are :
JP Associate, MindTree, Chambal Fertilizers, Sintex.

Besides the obvious packs of Reliance which has to spearhead the 'sails' if Sensex has to soar.

Since the % of stocks above the varios DMA has improved i suggest in a broader perspective we are in for a rise. But the panic of flu(not the flu itself but the 'panic') & sparse rainfall could play spoil sport.

Baltic Dry Index continues to fall upto as much as 40% at the timing of writing so thats something to bother aswell.

1140 hrs : Mkts is trading strong. Wud recommend not to hold Short position. 3i Info again looks lucrative so ppl can chip in again. Ashok Leyland looks strong too. If ASHLEY crosses 37 resistance it will zoom all d way atleast till 44.
Nifty is very stable now & it has shelved a LOT. We can take comfort of being in lap of very strong support zone.

1145 hrs : 3I Info is a strong counter at this level. Do NOT exit below the SL 65 levels. Some mkt jerks r doin strong beating at this counter. Hold tight & give doz ******* a kick in the proper place.

1220 hrs : Short Indiabulls Real Est. @ 227...keep strict SL of 230.25

1245 hrs : Buy TISCO for minimum 3% upside intraday. And, I repeat do NOT exit 3i info if it doesnt fail its SL

1311 hrs : i am bullish on NIFTY as of now. 4470 wud only get me to have second thoughts about the same

1200hrs : mkts moving indecisive. None of the limits crossed so lay back N watch for signs when to enter. Stock specific recommendations hold only with mkt sentiments being atleast neutral. Go for chai-sutta break.

Weekend Getaway's

Last week DOW had a tremendous rally so I do expect the corrective moves to halt, atleast(& we did have enuf, din we).
Reliance has shown a breakout from its HnS pattern hence we know Index does have a strong guy. ICICI is another one to support it with some breather.

Also, on readers' request Hero Honda was analyzed. It has an excellent 50DMA support which could have pushed it into the bullish zone, but sadly it wasn't the case & thus would reccommend to wait.

Baltic Dry Index is a worry still. One may say an opportunity too!

Copper charts have interesting consolidation but breakout green-flag can not be permitted only 'cos of index weakness.

I would most definetly exclude my 'calls' from this post not -forcing funda on visitor's who wud like to make a smooth cruise.
